With the festive season fast approaching we decided it was time to get our skates on and begin baking Christmas biscuits. I intended to photograph the process but was too engrossed, so here are the finished articles…

cinnamon stars / Zimtsterne – hundreds of them, but we still didn’t manage to stop the white coating from turning


friesian biscuits / Friesische Kekse – we put some orange rind in ours for extra flavour


jammie dodgers / Hilderbrötle or Spitzbuben


All made according to Grossmutters Badische Landküche, Florian’s mum, and some recipes off the internet. Have a go yourself (here, here and here).

Next up vanilla moons and (maybe) macaroons…
