Three beautiful things from this week:
1. Lady Windermere’s Fan at the Royal Exchange. Hugely enjoyable and more famous one-liners than you can shake a stick at.
2. 34 week growth scan shows Baby S is doing well. As at the 20 week scan, its hand is held against its head and refuses to budge despite the sonographer’s best efforts. It had better tuck it down and in before making its entrance.
3. Friday evening, Juliane and Rasso arrive from Munich. It’s a perfect excuse for bangers and mash with homemade mushy peas followed by rhubarb crumble and custard (it makes Juliane very happy). Saturday, we take them to a rainy Lyme Park followed by a sumptuous dinner at The Swan Inn in Kettleshulme, a win for Germany, and a drink at Folk. Sunday, the sun returns, and we spend a lovely afternoon wandering around private gardens in Didsbury, open as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
