Exhibition, tulips, visitors

We’re all about sleep deprivation over here thanks to stubborn colds, recurrent fevers and as of today a possible mild dose of conjunctivitis. Coffee and these things kept me going last week:

1. catching the David Batchelor exhibition ‘Flatlands’ at Spike Island. On a whim, last Thursday, I suggested we trundled over to the gallery, a stones throw from our house. So pleased we did as the exhibition was about to end. Nothing cheers me up more than white walls adorned with an explosion of colour.

2. tulips on the window sill. A pop of yellow giving two fingers to the grey sky beyond.

3. having friends come visit. With two toddlers about the house it was by no means a restful weekend but it was fun and filled with great company and good food.
