We’re in Germany for Easter. Our days will be filled with long, German breakfasts, lazing in the garden when the weather permits, and filling ourselves silly with asparagus, cake and chocolate. Major bonus is that after a week of illness, and the obligatory sleepless nights, the boy is sleeping-in past 8am. What utter bliss! Today, he helped his Oma bake Osterhäschen, made from a simple shortcrust dough with vanilla. He loved it! After pressing a few biscuits his attention quickly turned to getting well and truly stuck into the bowl of flour but the concentration on his face throughout was unbelievably sweet. I can’t wait to try more of this at home with him.
