So Christmas came and went in a flash. No sooner had we got into the spirit of things (we’re still humming all the tunes…) the candles had been burnt, the bottles emptied and the pretty tree taken down and unceremoniously dumped out the front awaiting collection.
It was lovely though. The perfect holiday at home. The boy was a bundle of excitement, eagerly awaiting his “cheesy dinner”(we have raclette on Weihnachten/Christmas Eve), and the jingle of the Christkind’s bell which announces that the presents have arrived after dinner. There was also plenty for us adults to enjoy including a sumptuous four course meal on Christmas day and something like 14 bottles of wine – bit hazy on the details – consumed over 2 days. A dry January is now in full swing.
